Goalies, shinguards and cleats, oh my!

The girls’ Soccer season has begun. They have been practicing on their own all summer and training hard this school year. Their goal is to go far this season.

Coach Charlie Hardee said, “This has been the best girls’ soccer team I have ever coached, talent wise. I’m really enjoying coaching these girls. They work smart, and they want to win, and together that is a really good combination.”

Regular practice started Jul. 26. They had a scrimmage on Aug. 12 against Hixson. The girls won 4-0. Their first game was on Tuesday, Aug. 17 in Lebanon. They played in Franklin County Thursday, Aug. 19, and against Notre Dame Thursday, Aug. 26.The team goes to Riverdale Thursday, Sept 2.

Their pre-season games were from Jul. 31 to Aug. 14. These were just some warm up games for the ladies, and do not count for the regular season.

Senior Dana Richardson says, “We have a lot of potential this year.”

The 2004-2005 Lady Cavs Soccer Roster are freshmen Carrie Bressler, Kaitlin Chaffin, Rebecca Cowan, Jakara Gribble, Ashleigh Hicks, Andrea Parker, Heather Parrish, Emily Reiley, Michelle Seal, and Danielle Sherfy, sophomores are Micah Alexander, Chelsea Bressler, Molly Delk, Caitlyn Epps, Tarra Landry, Brittany Limbacher, Vanessa Pryor, Mary Beth VanDeven, Akilah Vinson, and Bonnie Kate Walker, juniors are Kelly Carter, Nicole Dickinson, Tiffany Jolly, Amanda Keifer, Katherine Lynn, and Lauren Metts, seniors are Sarah Bishop, Courtney Bressler, Ashton Clouse, Mary Essler, Shealyn Morgan, Jessica Panker, and Dana Richardson.

“We have high hopes to get past districts and into State this year,” says goalie Ashton Clouse.
