Football punts off the season

Will Harris, Charger staff

Interviewing Jerry Joslin, the head coach of the Cookeville High School football team, was a great experience, especially during lunch time when he was standing guard in the commons area. Joslin’s expectations for this year are to return lettermen to the team and create the right “chemistry.”
There are six assistant coaches this year: Steven Medlin, Scott Cook, Beau Fullerton, Noah Repasky, Steve Young, and Adam Brown. New transfers onto the team are Josh Williams, Justin Sparks of Indiana, and Stephen Conrad from New Mexico.

Unfortunately the Cookeville High School football camp at Eastern Kentucky University was canceled because there was “no one to really work against” said Joslin. This cancelation would not hurt the teams attitude toward winning. The Jamboree was on Aug. 19. The first football game against Sparta was on Aug. 27. Homecoming will take place on Sept. 24. With the right attitude and enough school school spirit, the football team is headed to victory.
