In the last year it is unbelievable the amount of taxes Tennessee's state government,
and even Putnam Countys government, has tried to impose on their people.
The Tennessee state government has tried several times this year to implement
a state income tax. This is ridiculous. How much more can the United States
government expect us to give?
When you go to work and get your pay check, before you even cash that baby,
the government has already taken out federal income tax, social security tax,
and medicare tax. So before that paycheck enters your hot little hand, quite
a bit of it is taken in taxes. Now, to add to that massive amount, the Tennessee
state government wants to implement a state income tax to remove more money
from your check before you even get it.
Adding to the tariffs the government removes from your paycheck, everything
you buy, from clothing to groceries, has a sales tax on it. As if that isnt
enough, the Tennessee state government just raised the sales tax one percent
to make up for the failure of the state income tax.
Now you have your paycheck and you have bought the food, gas, clothing, and
other neccesities with sales taxes on them and you basically have no money left.
My question for the United States government is, when will you be satisfied? Dont we as tax payers have the right to decide when enough is enough? I think we do. We need to draw the line somewhere and preferably before we pay ninety-five percent of what we make in taxes.
