Freshmen discoveries

Doug Hensley, Charger Staff

Recently, I have had the special privilege of talking to a few of the freshmen here at Cookeville High School.
I asked few of the 565 freshmen currently in attendance what they think about Cookeville High School.
My first question was what they like the best about Cookeville High School.

Ryan Sarr says, “I like Cookeville High School because of the cool teachers and ten minute breaks. “

Chase Fletcher says that he likes block scheduling.

Andrea Copeland and Vanessa Rodriguez agree that the food selection is far superior.

“Cookeville High School’s freedom and abundance of people makes it more interesting,” says Lynn Bryant.

For whatever reason, students prefer Cookeville High School to Avery Trace.

My next question was, “Was the move to Cookeville High School difficult?”

Stefani Whitlock says that the move was surprisingly easy.

Kari Kanipe and Jenny Bilbrey both agree that finding their classes proved to be difficult.

Whitney Tayes says, “The halls are very crowded and it is hard to get around.”

Jamie Phy concurred by saying, “The move was not difficult, but I thought I might get lost.”

My final question was to Mrs. Martin, a ninth grade teacher. I asked her, “What do you think of the freshmen this year?”

Her response was, “So far they are doing very well. A few are very talkative, but overall it is a good class.”

Barry Sims sums up the whole freshmen attitude by saying, “There is no pool on the fourth floor!”
