I was recently in line at a vending machine, dollar bill in hand, when I realized
that I didnt have enough money.
The price of a delicious and refreshing Coca-Cola had gone from a reasonable $1.00 to an outrageous $1.25.
Suddenly, I panicked.
Would I have to break another dollar? I would like to know who is behind this
atrocious tax raise.
I am generally a very gentle person, but when you get between me and my money,
I get angry.
The fact that Uncle Sam expects tax payers to give up precious Benjamins all
the time is asinine.
To understand the reasoning behind this crime, we must examine the dictionary.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines tax as a contribution in support of
ones government. Nowhere in the definition does it say that our bigger
brother can milk us for everything that we earn. Is it not enough for a percentage
of our wages to be practically stolen on every paycheck. It is appalling that
American citizens are being penalized for their governments total lack
of budgeting skills.
I have now switched to aluminum cans in order to save money. I personally refuse
to cough up the extra quarter.
I ask you, the reader, will you stand with me and protest this heinous crime?
What can I do to stop this blatant violation of human rights? Do I stop using
vending machines? Start a tax exempt cult?
My two cents are as follows: read this quickly, before the price of newsprint goes up.
