Golf is swinging through state

Amber Dixon, Charger Staff

The air is getting coller and golf is wrapping up. Regional and state tournaments are right around the corner, along with the seniors last high school matches in high school.
Districs were on Sept.27. Regions were Oct. 3., and State is coming up later this month.
The Boy s’ Golf Team are 81 and 4 this year.

Senior Jared Dunn said, “I have no doubt that we will do well this year at regions and go on to state. Having districs right before regions will help the team do better in their preformance.”

The girls golf team played against Cumberland Co. at Deer Creek on Sept. 21. They also played at White Plains against Wilson Central on Sept. 22.

Senior Julie Longhaurst said, “I am really excited about regions. If we do good in Regions the Girls’ Golf Team will be able to go to State, a goal for all senior year golfers.”

The girls’ Regions are Oct. 2-3. The State Tournament is Oct. 11-13 at Pickewick State Park.

How has golf helped players? Senior Kayla Stewart responded, “It has made me a stronger person and makes me want to work hard, hoping that I can go far in life.”
