Jersey Mikes a sub-sational place!
Leigh Ivey, Editor-in-Chief
This month we, the restaurant reviewers, managed to find a new
place in Cookeville, which, in case you didnt know, isnt
a common occurrence.
The band of reviewers also greatly expanded. Along with Senka Hadzimuratovic
and Emilee Chaffin came Ryan Goodman, Mike Ford, and Heather Glasgow.
We decided to go to Jersey Mikes, the new restaurant on Jefferson
next to Kroger.
Jersey Mikes is a somewhat small, ordinary restaurant, but
the exceptional food makes Jersey Mikes much more than ordinary.
Although at first glance the menu causes customers to think the
place is much too expensive, but when they see the size of the subs,
their minds are quickly changed.
The portions are gigantic, not to mention delicious.
Another unique thing about Jersey Mikes is that the workers
actually slice the meat while you wait, rather than it being pre-sliced.
Brian Militana, who was eating when we arrived, offered, Its
like...wow...the meat must be fresh because they cut it right in
front of you!
I ordered a turkey sandwich, and for some reason I couldnt
see what kind of cheese they had... Yet the sandwich was still the
best I may have ever had. Emilee also got turkey, and Ryan got a
meatball sub, commenting, It was good.
Mike ordered a Philly cheese steak sub, saying, I agree.
It was good. (Mike and Ryan may not be invited to the next
review because they were somewhat lacking in the comment department.)
Senka and Heather didnt order sandwiches. Senka got cookies,
and the only negative comment about the food came from her.
Apparently the cookies werent as good as the sandwiches or
the chips, which received two thumbs up from Heather.
Jersey Mikes received four stars, putting it in the highest
category of dining establishments.
Oh, and by the way, if youre unable to find the water on
the soda fountain, its the little white button next to the
tea...
