Get some perspective... listen to real music
Erin McMillan, Charger Staff
Why are Nelly, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, Ludacris,
Ja Rule, Eve, and the like at all necessary to the world of so called
music? Three years ago, no self-respecting radio station would have
dared to sink to the level that rap music presents. Now, all rappers
have to do is collaborate with a mediocre singer and before they
know it, theyve hit the Top Ten.
Is there really anything more to rap than some ignorant guy with
bad teeth and jeans down to his knees, going on about how much money
he has, how great he is, and how many women hes slept with?
It takes no talent to be cocky.
White rappers are another atrocity entirely.
Take Eminem. When he isnt telling us
how he wants to kill his wife or how horrible his mother is, we
get to hear him tell us how he hates gays or how music would be
nothing without him. All he tries to do is shock people into buying
what he sells--vulgarity. Again, that does not take talent.
Women rappers create the image that all women
love to wear thongs and dance around poles. They have no self-respect,
and all they rap about is how a man did them wrong or how they want
a one night stand.
Every rap video is an abomination to good
taste.
Each one is the same. Promiscuous women,
alcohol, and drugs come together to create productions that should
never see the light of day.Rap is simply a quick way to make money.
Get some kid off the streets, tell him some
things to say, and watch the dough roll in. An occasional song will
come around that breaks out of the mold, but it happens far too rarely
for my taste.
