Swim team takes the plunge

Chelsey Littrell, Charger Staff

The Cookeville High School Swim Team is eager to make wave this season. On Nov. 10 Father Ryan High School hosted all the schools for “Fighting Irish swim and dive relays” at Tennessee State University. This was the first meet for the swim team.

When asked if Coach Boshung was optimistic about the start of the season, he said “ Yes, of course [I’m excited]. If they score a first place Nov. 10, they get to throw me in the pool. I will have my life jacket on.”

The first competitive match is on Nov. 19 against Franklin County at YMCA. The last meet is scheduled for Jan. 27 against Brentwood Academy. After the last meet, regionals begin in February. Only certain members qualify to participate in the regionals.

Senior James Scott said, “I’m excited about the start of the season. We have a great team this year. There isn’t a person I don’t like.”

“When I dive into the water at the start of the race I always have to look back and make sure my speedo is still on.”- James Scott
