Red Sox finally win

Jonathan McNabb, Charger Staff

The Boston Red Sox win! For the first time is 86 years the Red Sox won the World Series. While Boston fans and the casual baseball watcher rejoiced at the end of the curse of the Bambino, I found myself quite sad. Not only am I a New York Yankees fan (the dreaded enemy of the Red Sox), but I loved watching the drama of seeing the Red Sox fail in the playoffs.

This may go hand in hand with being a Yankees fan, but that being set aside, seeing Boston win this October was dull. The Red Sox have always lost in dramatic fashion and so for them to sweep the Cardinals in the World Series was inappropriate.

I am not really against the Red Sox winning. Their win just should have been dramatic. I think as a whole baseball will suffer for this. The anticipation of a Red Sox World Series victory has been years in the making and it has not produced the fan reaction that it should have.
