Hands off!!

Recently I decided to place a George W. Bush campaign sticker on
my car. I am quite aware of others’ opinions of our current
president but frankly, I don’t care. Its my car, my property,
and I can place what I want on it.
Afterwards, I went to Kroger to pick up some milk for my mother,
and as I was getting in my car I realized my sticker had been ripped
off! I looked around the parking lot only to see minivans and SUVs.
What minivan mom ripped off my sticker?!
Don’t get me wrong. I can get another sticker, and I will.
I’m just very distraught at the level of maturity people have
in this day and age. It has nothing to do with my political views
and everything to do with the fact that destruction of someone else’s
property, no matter what the circumstance, is wrong.
In this case it was just a sticker, but any kind of destruction.
Whether it be graffiti, stealing someone’s yard sign (which
seems to be a new favorite in our community), or keying someone’s
car it is inexcusable, against the law and a poor excuse of self
expression.
If others have different opinions than you, it’s time you
get used to it and have some respect for them regardless. Don’t
destruct their property. They have as much right to voice or show
their opinion as you do. This is America, need I remind you, and
free speech is still in the constitution. Let others voice their
opinion; if you disagree then strap on those debating shoes. Just
remember to keep your hands to yourself!
