Student body president offers a different perspective on administration

Spencer Huddleston, Charger Staff

This is not an angry rebuttal to a misinformed editorial. This is not a cronie of the administration speaking out for something I don’t believe.

This is a student who truly feels we are a part of something special providing a slightly different perspective on our administration.
We have seen the administration make mistakes. We have seen them act on emotional impulses and make wrong decisions.

Do we really see the other side, or just miscontinue our perception of the administration until they seem like prison wardens? Can we not come to the realization that the fault may be in our perception? Think for a minute about the things we see at our school.

I have seen administrators who promote homecoming activities and pep rallies. I might add that these pep rallies did not seem to have very much apathy or disregard of our school spirit.

I have seen men in suits and ties who are paid to lead our school attempts to pick up the trash left on the floor by children who demand a voice in large decisions, but are too irresponsible to throw their trash away.

I see administrators who still allow us to make decisions about our school, from I. D.s to activities and everything in between. I have seen Mrs. Fowler, the most gentle woman in the world, risk her safety to break up a fight between two young men who are in no way “thinking rationally.”

We have the nerve to claim that our best intrests aren’t kept in mind by our administration?

We can not expect perfection. The day that I do every single thing to perfection will probably be the day that I die.

I only ask we try to see these people for who they are and who they try to be.

After that, look in the mirror. What do you see?
