What has happened to good quality of music?

Chris Lynch, Charger Staff

Can you truly claim who is the best musician or band in this world?

Every individual has his own style and genre of music that ignites his pleasure. I, personally, have a hard time stomaching rap and punk, to put it bluntly. Punk rock consists of guitars played with great haste-- that is all.

Most rap promotes violence and arrogance. Being aggressive in music is just not my style.

If people prefer to listen to Eminem yell out white ebonics, let them have it; that is their choice.

Do rappers write explicit lyrics and rebellious music because they grew up in a rough neighborhood?

I don’t have a clue. This is my opinion and I’m going to have to decline rap music’s positive points.

Does Pink Floyd ring a bell in your ears? It certainly rings a bell in mine. The Floyd created their own genre and own way of writing music.

Have you ever considered listening to jazz from Miles Davis? Or perhaps the blues from Eric Clapton? Led Zeppelin is a great example of good rock’ n’ roll.

I believe there are two types of music. The first type is merely music. The second and more supreme type is just plain art.

The Beatles made British rock’ n’ roll, while Elvis preceded them and pioneered the genre here in America. They were artists who are still deeply respected to this day.

The difference between new and old music is basically radio and studio magic. Let’s see Scott Stapp sing as well as Robert Plant.

Radio kills all of the new music anyway, so who really cares. How many times can you possibly listen to Creed?

Let’s all just face the facts. Classic rock totally blows new age out of the water. It’s poetry for the ears and the mind.
