Cast and crew begin Clumsy Custard Show

by Holley Roberts, Charger Staff

Mark your calenders for the big show! November 29 will begin the "Clumsy Custard Horror Show" at CHS.

What's that? It's a comedy, directed by Bruce Anderson and supported by a talented young cast of aspiring thespians. Alex Lisic and Sam Spurlock are narrator and prince respectively, and Sarah Norwood is the spoiled princess. They are supported by a sizable cast, including Matt Stone as Worfle and Jonathan Uhles as the evil king, Dacron.

This is not, however, an ordinary fairy tale. It's filled with turkey spiders, ice cream clones and... never mind, you'll just have to come see for yourself.

"It's Monty Pythonesque," says director, Bruce Anderson. For those of you unfamiliar with Monty Python-type humor, Mr. Anderson says, "It's ridiculous, it's funny, it's silly; it's there to make you laugh."

What kind of an audience will enjoy this show? "We need lots of audience response; everyone has to get involved vocally with what's going on," says Mr. Anderson.

Bruce Anderson has been with CHS for six years, and he usually puts together a fall show and a winter musical. Last year the drama department presented "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" and "The Sound of Music," both of which were quite successful.

When asked to comment on this show, Mr. Anderson said, "In light of what's going on in the world, this was not the year to do a deep, thoughtful play; instead, what we need more than anything is a good laugh."

"The Clumsy Custard Horror Show" will have five performances: November 29 and 30, and December 5, 6 and 7. Curtain each night will be at 7:30, and the box office will open at 7:00.

A show like this always needs volunteers, so contact Mr. Anderson if you can help in any way!
