The Lady Cavs softball team is gearing up for another successful season.
After tying for the district championship last year, the Lady Cavs have a great
many players returning and should challenge for another district crown.
The ladies have been conditioning for many weeks now and have started their
regular practices in good shape.
Coaches Verdice Duff and Sam Brooks have put these girls through a rigorous
regiment of agilities and running, and they hope that the early season work
shows up throughout the season.
Seniors Lakeisha Darty and Emily Sliger will provide veteran experience and
leadership.
However, one of the main strengths of this team is their youth, with many sophomores vying for starting positions, including pitcher Erin Currier.
Currier looks to continue the success she had on the mound last year.
Although they lost a few crucial seniors, including college signee Caryn Little, they should be strong because of the talent of this young team.
