Have you ever felt like your life at times was a reenactment of a movie? Lately,
I feel as if I am a character in the movie Groundhog Day.
Each day I go through the same exact routine when getting ready for school,
when coming to school, and even when Im at school.
There is no variety in my day-to-day life.
Even on the weekend I feel as if I do the same activities. My friends and I
either go out to eat, go to the movies or go and sit at Poets. Occasionally
you can throw in a show at Whistle Stop or a night at someones private
residence, but it all feels like another case of dejavu.
I have determined that sitting at school all day and going through the same
process ever y single day is causing my mind to turn to mush.
Since graduation is just around the corner (four months), I have been drowning
myself in those so called graduation songs such as Baz Lurmans sunscreen
song, hoping that they will offer some advice for the future.
Even though I dont necessarily agree with the line, Do one thing
every day that scares you, I have changed that particular advice to help
me in my neverending problem of being bored with my day-to-day routine, even
though I am constantly on the go.
So here it is Cookeville High School, my advice to help change my blase life:
Do one thing every day that is different from what you did the day before.
You can take my advice if you want to. All I know is I am tired of feeling that I am in one of the worst movies of all time, Groundhog Day, and I wish my life was instead a reenactment of Shes All That, so I am going to do something about it -- starting today.
