Emilee Chaffin, Charger Staff
In our Christmas edition of The Charger, Coach Kevin Kennedy wanted to express
his appreciation of all the hard work and effort the boys on the baseball team
have put into their workouts.
The senior boys are stepping up and showing true leadership, and Kennedy had
wonderful things to say about each of the seniors.
Jason Cobb has terrific speed and a good arm, he should be a leader, says Kennedy. He also commented,
Jeremy Jones is extremely talented. He has improved greatly in the off
season and has worked very hard.
Scott Kuhnert has also worked very hard in the off season and has improved
his throwing greatly in the last few weeks, says Kennedy.
Todd Martin has a good arm and great pitching potential. He has good
speed and is awesome at bat. Mark McCowan has improved his footwork
behind the plate and has worked extremely hard on his hitting. Trevor
Mickey has good speed and a good arm. He has worked hard to improve his hitting
in the off season. Nathan Burks has excellent speed and range. He
has a possibility to work into a solid infielder.
The boys recently competed in their 100 inning game on March 2 against Baxter.
On Spring Break the guys played in the Dyer County Classic in West Tennessee.
They have offered open facilities all year, both in the mornings from 6 to
7:30 and in the afternoons from 3 to 6.
They could officially start practicing Feb. 4 and Assistant Coaches Semour,
Tennant, and Tubbs, and Kennedy have high hopes for this season since the boys
have worked so hard.
The boys first home game will be March 19 against Blackman.
There are not very many home games in March since the boys are at tournaments
often. More home games will be played in April and a full schedule will be in
our April issue of The Charger.
Congratulations to the boys on such hard work during the off season. Best of luck for the upcoming games.
