A night at Algood’s Tin House Theatre

Mr. Mal Stover of Algood owns and operates his own local guitar shop, and recently opened The Tin House Theatre. What started as a wild idea in Stover’s head turned into a forum for good old fashion live music.

The Tin House has already hosted the Hub City Bluegrass Band, and High Caliber with several more acts lined up for the future. I was front-row-center on February 22 to see the country music band High Caliber.

The country music cover band gave a ‘high caliber’ performance that blew away the crowd. The band played flawlessly from 7 to 9 Friday evening playing an assortment of modern country hits, and timeless country classics.

Their quality show was a wholesome peak into a genre of music that is unheard of amongst a high school audience.

Over all, High Caliber was a pleasant break from a world of rock, pop, and heavy metal that everyone seems to be wrapped in today.

Mal Stover’s Tin House Theatre is a venue that hosts quality, music. For only $6, a Friday night at the Tin House will take you back in time to see the way things used to be when things were simple and wholesome.

On March 8, the Hub City Bluegrass Band will give an encore performance, followed by the group Legacy on the 22nd.

What started as a crazy idea in the head of Mal Stover has turned into a platform for the music that has been forgotten by today’s generation.
