Coach Scott and team see superior swimming season

Doug Hensley, Charger Staff

Swimming is a sport that goes practically unnoticed in the world of high school sports.

When asked to list high school sports, most people say football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.

When asked how his year was going so far Coach Terry Scott said “I have high expectations for the team and they have met every expectation.”

Coach Scott said he chose to be the coach of the swim team because,”I’ve always enjoyed the sport and love to work with the young people on the team.”

“With the team’s hard work Brandon Pruett, Chris Carver, Charles Day, and Jon Watson made state qualifying times.”

Brandon Pruett said “Coach Scott is a good guy who tries hard with the team.”

When asked why he chose to swim Pruett said,”swimming keeps me physically fit. My favorite thing is the 50m freestyle.”

Senior Night for the swim team was on Jan. 23. Seniors recognized were Brandon Pruett, Jason Baert, Matt Stone, Jonathan Jacobi, and Orin Christianson.

You might be able to catch the swim team in action in the regionals meet Feb 7, and the state meet Feb. 21-22.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams have had an outstanding season thus far and appreciate the support of their fans.

If you have a chance support your swimming team.
