The doctor of love

Daniel “Spud” Flatt, Charger Staff

It is yet again the time of year when Cupid attaches the broad heads to his love-poisoned arrows and cuts through the hearts of us all. If you are a lovesick guy who is not thinking clearly enough to make an impression on that special someone, Dr. Love is here for you.

Here are ten things you can do to put that sparkle in your lady friend’s eyes:

10.
Name a star after her.
9.
Give her your coat when she is cold, open the car door for her, and give her a nice compliment--a.k.a. being a gentleman.
8.
Listen to her every word.
7.
Leave one of her favorite flowers on her car.
6.
Look into her eyes and tell her how much she means to you.
5.
Slow dance under the stars away from the city lights to some Sade love songs coming from your car stereo.
4.
Make a "scavenger hunt to my heart"--leave clues with things about the two of you that will eventually lead to a sweet surprise.
3.
Rent a good movie and cuddle on the couch.
2.
Walk her into a field where she can see a hillside lit with candles in the shape of a heart around a quilt where you have prepared a light dinner--don't forget the sparkling white grape juice, fancy glasses, and a picture framed of the two of you.
1.
Make every day a Valentine's Day for her

BONUS: Don’t freak her out by reading poetry - the time of Longfellow has long passed. And don’t forget to be yourself.

Happy Valentine’s Day, from Dr. Love.
