Eight classes a year, four classes a day- each an hour and a half in duration,
thus is the world of block scheduling--the very element that sets us as high
school students apart from the world of junior high.
Aside from the change in routine that block scheduling provides, it allows
for a plethora of extras for the students who rely on it.
First, students are able to take eight classes every year as opposed to the
normal six, as well as giving students a fresh start at the end of the first
semester.
Block scheduling has definatly saved my grades a time or two! I, for one, am
thanking my lucky stars that we are fortunate enough to be blessed with block
scheduling and with the wonderful opportunities that go along with it.
When I heard that the board had voted to keep block scheduling for another three
years, I was thrilled.
Thanks to my 2nd block teacher, Ive been kept up-to-speed with the current
events of Putnam County, in addition to having the benefits of block brought
to my attention by her occasional soap box tangents.
The board has voted to keep block scheduling for another three years. I applaud their decision. This will ensure that todays high school students will be able to bask in the glory of block and enjoy the benefits of this alternative schedule until graduation
