Premier: Corporate sponsor of The Charger

Kristen Mitchell, Charger Staff

The Charger has been adopted! Premier Diagnostic Imaging recently became the corporate sponsor of The Charger.

Recently the Charger staff invited Dr. Michael Martin, Bob Gunter, managing director of Premier, and Principal Wayne Shanks to an informal lunch to welcome the much needed iMac computer purchased with funds donated by Premier.
“We hope this new computer will empower our youth with state-of-the-art tools to accomplish higher levels of achievement and have access to the same tools the business world works with.” says Gunter.

Gunter wanted to earn money to go to Los Angelas. He gathered several people together and produced a newspaper. Gunter sold ads and learned how hard it is to put together a newspaper.

He learned the ropes of the business world and earned enough money to travel to Los Angelas.

Gunter commented on the decision to adopt the newspaper, “Premier Diagnostic Imaging decided to sponsor The Charger to reward the students for their excellence in publishing a quality newspaper. We believe The Charger is one of the premier high school newspapers in the state.”

In October, Olivia Johnson, Ads Manger, visited Premier on a routine sales contact. Gunter asked if Premier could adopt or sponsor the newspaper. Rather than purchase equipment for The Charger, Premier opted to purchase an ad in each issue and make a donation as well. This allowed the student staff and adviser to decide how the funds could best be used. With this donation The Charger will be able to produce issues more efficiently and will be able to continue its legacy as an award winning newspaper.

The Charger staff thanks Premier for their confidence in our efforts and their desire to be a part of The Charger family. Any individual or business who would like to learn more about The Charger and how they can help fund our efforts should contact Ms. Sharon K. Anderson, faculty adviser by phone at 525-1215 or e-mail andersons17@k12tn.net
