Math teacher relates to students

Tara Abner, Charger Staff

Have you ever had one of those teachers that you wish you could have forever? They just happen to go the right pace for your learning ability and spend just the right amount of time on a subject so that you get it. Well this year I found a teacher like that. Her name is Beth Allison, and she is an Algebra 1 teacher.

Mrs. Allison has been teaching at Cookeville High School for seventeen years. She is married and has one child named Ryan. He is a senior here at CHS and plays on the basketball team.

When asked if she has any advice for students in Algebra 1, she replied, “Pay attention to everything your teacher says, do all of your homework, and ask for extra help if you need it”.

I chose Mrs. Allison as my favorite teacher because she never moves on to another section or chapter if everyone does not understand the previous one. She always encourages her students to ask questions and to get help if they need it. I have never seen her in a bad mood when she comes into class. She makes her classes interesting so that we all learn something.

Her class is always fun because she is so easy to joke around with.

Mrs. Allison added, “I think the teachers and students at CHS are the best in the state. I wish people outside of education had a better understanding of how the educational system works, so they could make more informed decisions.” Thank you, Mrs. Allison.
