A town of wonder and amazement-all within our reach

Molly Risley, Charger Staff

You might think that in a sleepy little place like Cookeville, a person would be hard pressed to find anything interesting to do. On the contrary, there are many exciting activities to engage in on any given night.

Take Bowling World for example.. You could go and have a normal game with some friends or try to impress a date by taking her cosmic bowling!

The Cookeville Mall (which is conveniently located next to Bowling World) is also a popular spot in which to pass the time.

The mall contains several stores, and each of the stores contain numerous pieces of merchandise.

Also in the mall is the ever-popular Fun Tunnel. The Fun Tunnel has a wide variety of action-packed games ranging from Skee-ball to Star Wars and, of course, the classic Pinball games. Granted, you may waste a good portion of your money in this place, but you will not walk away empty-handed.

Many of the games give Fun Tunnel tickets which can be redeemed for some fabulous Fun Tunnel prizes! If you are in the mood for some ice cream after a grueling evening of bowling and FunTunnel games, just skip over to the Dairy Queen and pick up a Blizzard or a Dilly Bar.

Other favorite activities include making fun-filled documentaries about Nicole’s big night and Al Gore’s visit and other such events of great importance.

A perfect way to end filming is over a basket full of crispy tortilla chips and flavorful salsa at El Tapatio (affectionately known by Charger staffers as El Tap).

On a Thursday evening (after watching Friends, of course) you could go to the Highland Ten and catch a movie. One of the greatest evenings in Cookeville can be spent listening to various bands play at the Whistle Stop Cafe.

No matter what you do or where you go, any evening is a great evening if it is spent with good friends.

Of course, sometimes “friends” are not always the fun ones to hang out with. And if you can’t hang out with friends, you might as well hang out by yourself. At home, at the movies, at restaurants--all are ideal places to visit with or without accompaniment.

So instead of having a terrible time with people who don’t make you happy, make your own fun.
