Cheering, dribbling, and shooting are the sights and sounds that are coming your way.
Football season is over and basketball season is bouncing in. We’ve got a great season and fresh players ahead of us.

This year’s boy’s varsity basketball team includes seniors Blake Weaver, Bobby Allmon, Mario Burnette,

Brian Otuonye, and Josh Curtis; juniors Jeff Fitzpatrick, Josh Weigand, Phillip Moore, and John Rader; sophomores Joe Kashner, Addison Smith, Michael Mullins, Brandon Hodge, and Shane Langford; freshman Taylor Stearman.

They are coached by Kevin Bray and their new coach Gavin Moore.

When asked what he thought the outcome of the year would be, senior captain Mario Burnette said, “This year is going to be a rebuilding year, but I believe that we will play hard and have great success.” Coach Bray agrees with Burnette.

This year’s girls’ varsity team includes seniors Ashley Taylor, Rachel Nipper, Erica McDonald, and Holley Roberts; juniors Cara Reed, Megan Allen, Ashley Martin, and Dani Green; and sophomores Kellye Jolley, Meredith Redus, Leslie Tallent, Lacey Bell, and Lydia Jones.

They are coached this year by Mindy Odom and Janie Brock.

When asked about their upcoming season, senior Holley Roberts said, “The team’s effort is impressive, and we should continue to improve throughout the season.”

We’ve got many returning faces have begun a great season.

Come on out and support our Cavalier basketball teams for their 2002-2003 season.

Following their Sparta win, tonight at 6:30 we take on Warren County Pioneers.
