Pep It Up
Kristie Powell, Charger Staff
War can bring a country together, and war is what this school went
through during Spirit Week.
As corny as this may sound, we lost to Blackman, but we really won.
We won because on that day, we came together as a school. We cheered
together, froze together, trashed the sophomores together, and lost
together.
For instance during the pep rally, the junior class sat down together
and we all shared, not our unspiritedness, but our similarities.
We all turned to glare at the sophomore class when hearing the
defeat of the seniors.
My homeroom class even won the cheer contest. You should have seen
us strategizing and perfecting our cheer.
Sure, no one could hear us during the pep rally and we didnt
get any donuts (something the administration should seriously consider),
but we now have something we can share.
I am sad to say my first football game was also my last. Even I,
one of the most unschool-spirited people ever, battled the terrible
weather and cheered on our football team.
As for the team, you guys set a precedence that will remain. Your
play set the mark on how all other teams will be judged.
Now our newly united school has the duty to cheer on any school-sponsored
event, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the many new teams to come.
