Friday the 13th! The horror!

Elena Vasquez, Charger Staff

December is a great holiday month and this time it came almost before we were ready. This December is a little different. This month has a Friday, the 13th.

To some this day is superstitious while to others it is only a simple number. Why is it such a small deal to some, while to others it’s a day of bad luck?

When did it get started?

Nobody knows for sure when Friday the 13th came to symbolize bad luck. Although few folks spend the day cowering in their beds, many are cautious.

The story that I’m about to tell you may shock or scare you, so reader beware. You are in for a scare!!

Imagine you wake up, its Friday, almost the weekend.

You get ready for school, you go brush your teeth.

You get dressed, and brush your hair, but wait what’s this? Your hair seems to be doing this weird funky looking thing!

You try to hose down the hair with, first gel, then in a last desperate attempt, you take out the cement hair spray. Still no luck, the hair is just being stubborn!

Due to the extra attention required by your hair, you miss the bus.

Now you have to wake an angry dad, to take you to school.

Next there is a lot of traffic on your way to school, so you not only get to school late, but also miss breakfast!

Next, you are getting your books out of the locker, when the late bell rings. Great! You are late to your first block.

As you get to classroom, you remember that its your seventh tardy. The teacher notices, as you sit down, remembers its your seventh tardy, and write you up..

You then realize that everyone is taking a test -- the one you forgot and did not study for. The morning so far has been horrible. This could actually happen.

Trust me, these are actual events.

But then again, Friday the 13th could bring you good luck. By the way I happen to like the 14th better. Why?

It’s my birth-day!
