Amazons on campus: what’s the deal with heels?

Jessica Harden, Staff Writer

Tally! Jolly Green Giant! These are just two of the many things that I have heard all through my life.
I do not understand why girls shorter than I have a problem with tall girls wearing tall shoes.
I was recently walking down the hallway and I heard some girls behind me making remarks about how tall I am.

They said I should not be wearing these particular shoes with a four inch heel on them, just because they make me taller than I already am.

I am seventy-one inches without shoes.

It is not my fault that some girls got bad genetics, and when they wear tall shoes, it does not make a difference in their height.

I am not saying that all short people are bad. I am just talking about the girls who have a problem with us tall girls.

I think that the girls who were behind me were making those particular remarks just because they were jealous of me because I am tall and they are not.

My theory is that if I have it, why not show it off? It is not my fault that I am tall. I just have to be grateful for what I have.

I consider tallness to be a good thing. There are millions of famous people that are tall throughout the world. I feel that being tall is a blessing when it comes to certain sports and activities.Throughout my life, there have been many people who have come up to me and said ”Wow, you are tall. Do you play basketball?” Duh!! It is not like I do not know that I am tall.
