Most spend Thanksgiving with family around a table with family. Four girls from CHS, however, spent their Thanksgiving marching the streets of New York.

Cheerleaders Wynne Presley and Krystle Wordsworth, for the United Cheerleading Association, and dance team members Jessica Easley and Natalie Winningham, for the Mike Miller Association, participated in the annual Macy's Day Parade.

"We made All-Stars at UCA cheer camp this past summer," said Wynne Presley.

Krystal Wordsworth added, "We had a choice of going to London, Macy's or Australia."

Presley and Wordsworth were two of 600 girls from all over the United States who performed their routine at Herald Square.

Wordsworth said, "The whole week consisted of practices. One day we had a six hour practice, but usually they were about four hours a day."

As for the impact the parade itself had on New York citizens, both girls agreed that it was positive.

"It was good to see people's reactions because they realized that their lives were gettng back to normal since the September 11th attack," Presley said.

Wordsworth said, "Just knowing that people can go on after a horrible thing like that was good. The people were nice."
