Baseball improving with districts soon

Charger Staff

With summer almost here, crowds gather to watch America’s favorite pastime.

With hotdogs and popcorn in hand, people love watching baseball.

The CHS baseball season is off to a rough start, but Coach Hunt is optimistic about the remaining games before the District tournaments.

Hunt says, “We are struggling right now and a few things have not gone our way. But that’s baseball and that’s life.”

Some players that are showing definite promise with their pitching are Micheal Alcorn, Wade Bilbrey, Barrett Steakley, Robby Adams, Adam Littrell, and Drew Edgington.

The boys who are leading their team in batting are Drew Edgington, Brian Militana, Adam Militana and Robby Adams.

Hunt has plans for improvement and intends to strengthen the team and instill the work ethics needed to improve their season. “We have the opportunity each day to work hard and try to get better,” says Hunt. “We have good kids here. The players just have to know that they must be willing to get after it everyday.”

With Districts in the near future and the hopeful outlook of a good season, Hunt says the goal of the team right now is to keep working and play through the tough times.

Come out and support our CHS baseball team and be a supporting part of America’s favorite pastime.
