Summer School
(Upperman and Monterey will do their own Credit Recovery.)

** Virtual summer school will be June 10 – July 22 from 8:00 – 3:00 with a break from July 1 – 7.
Summer School will take place June 8 – July 2 at Cookeville High School. Students may register with his or her Counselor until 3:00pm on May 28, 2009. After that, they MUST register at CHS on June 1st from 12:00pm until 3:00pm in the CHS Main Entrance Lobby. Students must bring their report card to prove attendance and grade average for admission.
Courses Offered: English 9A, 9B; English 10A, 10B; Algebra IA, IB; Algebra II, Spanish II
Credit Recovery will be offered in the following subjects: English 11, English 12, Foundations II, and Geometry. Other classes for recovery may be arranged through Mr. Tim Martin as necessary to complete graduation requirements according to enrollment.
All course offerings will ultimately be determined based upon number of students enrolled.
The tuition rates for the 2008/09 Summer School is $150 per student per credit. The fee is payable at CHS on the first day of class, June 8. Tuition will be waived for students on a fee waiver.
A student may enroll in summer school provided absences do not exceed fifteen (15) per semester, the semester grade average is fifty (50) or above, and enrollment for the previous year was in Putnam County Schools per Board policy 4.204.
No more than one (1) credit shall be earned during any summer school session.
One hundred percent attendance is required in summer school. Any time missed must be made up in its entirety or the student will be dropped from the summer school. A passing summer school grade can replace a failing semester grade.Breakfast and lunch will be served free to all summer school students. Breakfast is from 7:15am until 7:30am and lunch is from 11:30am until 12:00pm.
