CHS Sponsored Academic Assistance


Classroom Teacher Before/After School Academic Assistance: Students who need academic asistance are asked to speak with their teacher(s) to determine if the teacher(s) is able to meet them at Cookeville High School before or after school hours for individual academic assistance. Students who have the need to obtain academic assistance from a teacher prior to school must have a note from the teacher stating that he or she has permission to come to their classroom. Otherwise, the hall monitor will not allow the student entrance into the academic wing. Before school academic assistance is at 7:00 - 7:45 am and after school academic assistance is at 3:15 to 4:15 pm.

Lunch Hour Academic Assistance: All teachers have times posted when they are available for Academic Assistance during the lunch hour.

Community Sponsored Academic Assistance

Cummins/Fleetguard Tutoring: Employees from Cummins/Fleetguard are at CHS on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 in room 88 (classroom beside the PLATO lab) to tutor students with all Math and Science subjects. NO sign-up required to attend. Tutoring will begin on August 26, 2010.

Flowserve Tutoring: Dates and Times for 2010-11 will be announce soon.

Putnam County Library Free Math Tutoring

Subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Calculus, Statistics, ACT Math Prep

Free Community Tutoring Clinic at The EDGE: Tutors from Tennessee Tech (students and professors) as well as other qualified professionals from the community are available on Tuesdays for 30 minute sessions from 3:30 - 5:30 to help students with the following subjects: Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. For more information and to set up your session time, please call 526-6900. Starting dates for 2010-11 will be announced soon.
